Meet the Stork
My name is Jordan Hernandez. I am a Certified Maternal Newborn Registered Nurse with over 10 years of experience in Postpartum, Labor and Delivery, Nursery, and NICU. With my many years of experience assisting new mothers and families, I have also undergone extensive training in Neonatal Resuscitation, as well as Lactation.
Throughout my own time as both a nurse and mother, I have found that the transition from hospital to home with a newborn can be an extremely overwhelming process. I have seen, firsthand, the need for and lack of education and support available to birthing parents and new families during this most vulnerable time. I am happy to now be able to offer this support in the comfort your home.

"Magnolia Stork" was inspired by my time as a "Stork Nurse" on the Labor and Delivery unit of the hospital. As a "Stork Nurse," I was responsible for the newborn immediately following birth until both mother and baby had recovered from delivery. This is also commonly referred to as "Transition." Being from the south, we are surrounded by magnolia trees and their grandiose beauty. The magnolia flower, though beautiful on its own, also represents love, joy, dignity, and pride- all of which I hope to instill in new families.

My drive and passion to help women in the postpartum period and new families of all kinds become more confident in their new roles and way of living has led me to this opportunity to educate parents and families on how to best care for themselves, as well as to care for the newest member of the family. I am excited and honored to share the beginning of life's most incredible journey with you!

Services
Home Visits
Leaving the safety and support of the hospital can be daunting. You are tired, excited, and overwhelmed with all the information you received at the hospital along with the new life you are responsible for. Scheduling a home visit will give us 3 hours of personalized, hands-on instruction for everything you will need to know to build your confidence and bond with your new blessing.
Feeding Consult
Whether you are breastfeeding, or formula feeding, newborns are just learning basic life skills. Feeding does not always come naturally to them or to you. With this service, I will come to your home during a feeding time to assist in trouble shooting and guiding both you and the baby to make feeding time for successful and enjoyable for everyone
Pre-Natal Education
Being prepared can greatly reduce the anxiety and stress of bringing home baby. We can schedule a class customized for your unique concerns in the comfort of your home, so that you can absorb the information well before baby comes! Classes can cover any desired information from delivery, through the first month of life. Education can also be customized for siblings, or if grandparents want today's evidenced based practices on caring for baby.
